Welsh rugby star Gareth Davies apologises for brawling with bouncers in nightclub last year

  1. Welsh rugby star Gareth Davies has apologised for brawling with two bouncers last summer - after chasing them down a street with a shoe.
  2. Footage emerged on Saturday morning of the scrum-half running after one of the men in Aberystwyth.
  3. Davies, 26, then tackles the man and accuses him of "hitting a girl on the floor" of the club.
  4. A woman in the video can be heard pleading with Davies not to attack the bouncers, saying: "He didn't hit me on the floor. Gareth, please!"
Davies is first seen chatting with a man, filming the footage, and the woman who was allegedly 'hit'.

He then begins chasing the bouncer, faking to hit him with his shoe as the man retreats.
"Mate, you can't hit a girl on the floor," the man filming the footage can be heard telling the bouncer. He replies: "I didn't hit her."
The woman insists she was not hit, but Davies rugby tackles the man to the pavement. "You pushed a girl on the floor!" Davies then begins shouting.
Another man then asked Davies to leave the bouncer alone, to which he replies: "F*** off, pal." Davies then begins brawling with the other man. The Welsh international is urged to 'cool down'.
And after his side's Six Nations defeat by England on Saturday afternoon, Davies said: "I would like to apologise for the incident that took place.

"I reacted wrongly to the situation and have learnt from it and understand that I have a responsibility to the game at all times"
A WRU spokesman said: "We are aware of the incident that took place last August and the matter has been dealt with internally.
"As with all players, Gareth has been reminded of his responsibility as an International rugby player."
